(a Church in the Ormskirk Methodist Circuit)
Our Mission Statement
Mawdesley Methodist Church exists to promote the worship of God, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit to serve its neighbours in Christ at home and abroad. It seeks to play its part in transforming the unjust structures of society and promoting strong communities based on Christian values.

There has been a Methodist presence in Mawdesley since the early 1800s at least. Our present building was opened in 1905.
Today Mawdesley Methodist Church is here to serve God in the community of Mawdesley village and beyond.
We are glad to work in partnership with our Christian friends at the Parish Church and the RC Church with whom we share regularly in village events and at the major Christian festivals.
We take seriously our commitment to work within the community, we are proud of our links with the local schools and Uniformed Organisations. Along with other Churches in the village we take our turn in hosting special school services and parade services .
All the activities organised by our church are open to anyone, you don’t have to be a member to join in.
We aim to be a welcoming Church. If you are looking for someone to share an interest, for friendship, for support through difficult times, for Christian fellowship we might just be able to help you.
Most importantly we are a worshipping community of Christian believers.

Come and see our beautiful stained glass windows—one proclaims Love the Lord and another God is Love.
They reflect the focus of our Church: God is love, and we seek to show our love for God in everything we do.
If you are not already linked with one of the local Churches we would be very pleased to welcome you into our Church family.
